Boynton What's Gnu?

The great thing about updating a website oh about every two years or so (weather permitting) is how very productive one seems to have been. Why, just LOOK at all these goings-on that have apparently gone on.

GNUS FLASH!
In May 2008, the National Cartoonists Society presented Sandra Boynton—who somehow hadn’t realized she was getting on in years—with the Milton Caniff Lifetime Achievement Award. Sandra’s mother, Jeanne, reports that a neighbor astutely surmised: “They must have run out of people to give it to.”

QUIET ON THE SET!
Boynton directs B. B. King in her very first film—and there are four more musical shorts to come. The first release is ONE SHOE BLUES (based on the wildly popular track originally from the Blue Moo album) starring the incomparable B.B. King, along with several sock puppet unknowns.

The amazing Dallas presents a few more hand-crafted Boynton characters, including the first ever Boynton finger wear, named “The Snouter Limits Ring.”

Three of the Boynton/Ford albums—Rhinoceros Tap, Philadelphia Chickens, and Dog Train—have been certified Gold by the RIAA a.k.a. The Recording Industry Association of America. (Gold record certification is solemnly bestowed upon albums with sales in excess of 500,000 copies. Cool, no?)

From the Grammy-nominated Gold Record book/CD Philadelphia Chickens, here’s a board book version of the much-loved song. A little boy (What! Boynton draws a PERSON???) introduces us to his animals—each of them named Bob. Except one.
